Kupwara, Jun 4 : A 26-year-old Army Casper driver died in an accident in Zangli area of north Kashmir on Friday.

Sources told GNS that Casper vehicle of 41 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion was required at main-town Kupwara. โ€œSepoy Bhoopati S (driver) was behind the vehicle when the handbrake of the vehicle got disengaged due to some mechanical fault as a result of which it moved backwards and pushed the soldier with another Casper which was parked behind it, leaving him trappedโ€, they said.

He was immediately evacuated to hospital in unconscious state but succumbed to the injuries, they said.

Hailing from Tamil Nadu, the soldier is survived by his parents besides a brother and a sister, they added. (GNS)
