Poonch, Jun 11 : A 15-year-old boy has died after drowning in a river in his native village in Jhullas sector in Poonch district on Friday afternoon.
Reports reaching GNS said that the teenage boy Prabh Dayal son of Ram Sharma had taken to Khari nalla for bath. However after some time when the youth couldn’t be seen, the people there presumed him to have drowned, forcing them to launch efforts to search him out.
Few hours into the search led to the retrieval of teenager in an unconscious condition, following which he was taken to a District Hospital Poonch, however the doctors declared the boy as brought dead on arrival.
A police official confirming the incident to GNS said that the body has been handed over to the family for last rites on conduct of necessary medico-legal formalities. (GNS)
