Goods and Service Tax regime has completed 5 years in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
On Thursday an Interactive session regarding “GST Milestones and Updates” was held with Trade and Industries Associations of Kashmir Division by State Taxes Department at Excise & Taxation complex Srinagar.
Commissioner State Taxes Department Dr. Rashmi Singh (IAS) who chaired the session elaborated the achievements of Goods and Service Tax regime, Increase in revenue collections and compliance. Commissioner enjoined upon all bodies to enhance registrations of tax payers and ensure compliances in filing of GST returns.
The Trade bodies and Industrialists thanked the department for organising such programmes wherein they clarify many operational issues, get all relevant updates and also offer their suggestions for the policy domain in order to facilitate the trade further.
The session was also attended by Deputy Commissioner CGST Manish Singh, who apprised the functioning of CGST set up in Kashmir Division. Additional Commissioner STD Kashmir Division Manzoor Ahmad Bhat gave welcome address whereas Waseem Raja AC (Technical) gave a detailed presentation on the occasion.
