An alleged child abuser from North Kashmir who was in custody and undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura died in the hospital, official sources said.
Police had arrested an accused Rafiq Ahmed Mir, a resident of Dudran Boniyar area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district under 57/2022 under section ¾ ‘Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POSCO) and 58/2022 under section 309.
The accused had developed some health issues and was undergoing treatment at SKIMS where he died.
After the completion of medico-legal formalities, the dead body was handed over to his family for last rites. (KNT)
