Several councilors on Thursday moved a no confidence motion against Municipal Council president Handwara.
Sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 7 councilors backed by Peoples Conference have moved the confidence motion against the incumbent president Mansoor Bandey.
Notably, a no-confidence motion was also moved against him last year, however, he managed to prove his majority.
Meanwhile, vice -chairman MC Handwara, Bashir Ahmad while confirming the development said that he along with 6 other councilors have moved the no-confidence motion against the chairman.
He said that they have proceeded and will wait for further official procedures as per the norms.
It may be recalled that MC Handwara has a total of 14 councillors—(KNO)
