Secretary Tourism and Culture, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah Monday said that J&K is ready to host best class world events in coming times.

“I am confident that J&K is ready to host best class world events in future owing to availability of infrastructure, magnificent beauty and grandiosity,” Shah as per KNS said while talking to reporters on the sidelines of 5-day Theater Festival 2023 that begins at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.

He said in 2022 J&K received 1.88 Crore tourists but this year the figure has breached only during 10 months. “I hope we will cross 2 Crore plus figure this year. As of now J&K has 2 Crore population and we are getting more tourists than our population now a days,” he said.

He added after G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Srinagar, we have conducted 15 major events in J&K and it will further intense in coming times. (KNS)
