Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler at Braripora Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A special team of Handwara Police led by SDPO Handwara accompanied by SHO Handwara established a specific checkpoint (Naka) at Braripora during checking one suspicious person identified as Mohd Abbas War son of Bostan War resident of Bakihaker carrying a polithene bag was intercepted.Upon search, officers were able to recover *Herion* like cotraband substance packed in polithene bag,*Insulin syringes 01Ml(10.Nos)*,*Steel Spoon(01 No)* and a *Digital weighing Machine* from his possession. He was arrested on spot.
Subsequently, case vide FIR number *48/2024* under section *8/21 of NDPS Act* stands registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation has been initiated.
General public is requested to come forward or Dial 112 with any information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
