The Jammu and Kashmir government has declared a seven-day state mourning from December 26, 2024, to January 1, 2025, to honor the former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26.

During this period, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast at all official locations, and no official entertainment events will take place. The General Administration Department has issued directives to ensure compliance with these measures.

The decision, communicated by Commissioner/Secretary Sanjeev Verma, reflects the state’s respect for the late leader. Citizens have been requested to observe the guidelines during the mourning period. [KNT]
