The Cyber Cell of Police District Awantipora has successfully resolved several cases of online financial fraud, recovering a total of ₹2,45,990. The cases involved fraudulent schemes where victims were promised high returns in exchange for additional deposits.

Multiple complaints were received, detailing scams that amounted to ₹2,45,990. The frauds centered around fake investment opportunities, with the victims being encouraged to invest more money to receive promised high returns.

In response, the Cyber Cell swiftly collected evidence and crucial information from the victims. Through advanced cyber techniques, they managed to freeze the fraudulent transactions, successfully recovering ₹2,45,990. The entire amount was then credited back to the victims.

Awantipora Police have urged the public to exercise caution against online scams, including fake SMS credit messages, unauthorized apps, and fraudulent investment schemes. They also advised people to be wary of video calls from unknown numbers and to avoid sharing personal information online.

The police continue to work tirelessly to combat cybercrime and safeguard the public from online fraud.
