In a significant development, the Delhi High Court has taken cognizance of the plea seeking custody parole for AIP President and MP Baramulla, Engineer Rashid, to attend the ongoing Parliament session. The court has issued a notice and directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to file its response by Monday. The matter is now scheduled for a detailed hearing on Tuesday 18th March.

AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi welcomed the court’s notice but reiterated that the continued delay in granting Er Rashid the right to represent his constituency is deeply concerning. “The people of North Kashmir elected Er Rashid to be their voice in Parliament. Denying him this fundamental right is not just an injustice to him but also an insult to the democratic process,” he said.

He further added that AIP remains steadfast in its legal fight. “We hope the judiciary ensures fairness and upholds Er Rashid’s right to attend Parliament. This is not just about one individual; it is about preserving democratic values,” Inam Un Nabi asserted.
