9 tourists injured in south Kashmir accident

At least nine tourists were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Thursday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the accident took place near Qazigund in South Kashmir's Kulgam district.

He said a tempo traveler (number PB01B-7720) on its way  from Jammu to Srinagar hit a divider near the Power Grid Station Nipora leading to injuries to the passengers.

"The injured  were rushed to GMC Anantnag for treatment, " the official said, adding that all the wounded  passengers  are stable.

The Injured were identified as Vikram Kumar, son of Deva Ram, resident of Rajasthan, age 39 years; Avala Krishna Chaitanya, son of Avala Bala Nagendra Krishna Murthy, resident of Andhra Pradesh, age 28 years; Aftab, son of Mohd Vaseen Saray, resident of Uttar Pradesh, age 46 years; Shanbo, son of Vakano, resident of Mumbai, age 38 years; Khota, son of Maiy Ram, resident of Rajasthan, age 38 years; Ramlal, son of Shamlal, resident of Mumbai, age 40 years; Vabak Kumar, son of Vinod Kumar, resident of Mumbai, age 39 years; Anil Kumar, son of Ray Kumar, resident of Kalwa, Mumbai, age 34 years and Rahul, son of Rashpal, resident of Rajasthan—(KNO)
