A girl was killed and her father injured when gusty winds wreaked havoc across Kashmir, damaging many house rooftops, electricity lines, and vehicles.
Officials told GNS that a girl, Soby Reyaz a resident of Daloodi area of Rajouri district was killed when a tree fell on her due to strong winds in Behak Gadder, Shopian. Her father, Reyaz Ahmad, sustained injuries in the incident.
Reports of damage from strong winds were received from other parts of the valley, including a collapsed mobile tower in Soura, damaged rooftops of houses, the minaret of Jamia Masjid Batapora in Chadoora, and the rooftop of a mosque in Tangmarg.
