Baramulla Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the exploitation of a mentally challenged minor girl, following months of investigation and DNA analysis.

The case came to light in January 2025 when the 16-year-old was found to be pregnant during a medical check-up.

An FIR was registered at Kunzer Police Station under relevant protective laws. Two initial suspects were arrested but ruled out after DNA testing.

Subsequent forensic evidence identified a third individual, Jawad Alam of Champaran, as responsible for the pregnancy. Investigations revealed repeated offenses by all three accused.
