The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a nowcast warning for a spell of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms expected over several parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the next three hours.

Areas likely to be affected include North Kashmir, Kukernag, the Pir Panjal range, Ganderbal-Sonamarg, the Baltal–Holy Cave–Pahalgam axis, as well as districts in Jammu including Samba, Reasi, Ramban, and Udhampur.

The MET department also warned of intense showers at isolated locations, which could trigger flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, especially in vulnerable hilly terrain.

In addition, strong gusty winds ranging between 40 to 50 km/h may occur in some areas, posing risks to weak structures and outdoor activities.

Residents and travelers, particularly those on the Amarnath Yatra route and in landslide-prone zones, are advised to exercise caution.
