The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather forecast and advisory warning of intermittent rain and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir from July 16 to 23, with the potential for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places, especially between July 16–17 and July 21–23.

According to the MET department:

    July 16–17: The region will experience generally cloudy skies with intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places. Some areas are expected to receive intense showers with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall.

    July 18–20: Rain activity will reduce slightly, with light to moderate rain/thundershowers occurring at scattered to fairly widespread places.

    July 21–23: Weather conditions will again turn unstable, with a return of moderate rainfall and possible intense spells in several areas, along with isolated heavy to very heavy showers.

Advisory Issued

The MET Centre has warned of potential flash floods in vulnerable areas, along with risks of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, particularly in hilly terrains and along national highways.
Public Caution Urged

Residents, tourists, and especially those living in landslide-prone zones or traveling through mountainous routes are urged to remain alert and follow advisories issued by local authorities.

The department continues to monitor the situation and will provide timely updates.
