A young mechanic lost his life in a tyre blast at a local workshop in the Devsar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Najar, son of Ghulam Rasool Najar, a resident of Bozgam village in Kulgam. Reports said that Imtiyaz was employed at ‘Shahid Motors,’ an automobile workshop owned by his maternal uncle in Devsar.
According to eyewitnesses, Imtiyaz was working on a heavy vehicle when a tyre suddenly exploded, causing grievous injuries to his head. He died on the spot due to the force of the blast.
