Authorities on Monday issued a weather advisory for several districts of South and Central Kashmir, cautioning residents about the likelihood of heavy rain and thunderstorms over the next 40 hours.
According to the alert, districts including Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Ganderbal, and Budgam may witness intense rainfall accompanied by thunder, which could trigger cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides at vulnerable locations.
Officials have urged people to remain cautious and avoid going near nallas, riverbanks, and unstable structures. “Residents are advised to stay alert and strictly follow safety guidelines. In case of emergency, people should dial 112,” the advisory said.
Disaster management teams and district administrations are closely monitoring the situation to respond swiftly to any untoward incidents. [KNT]
