The murder of an RSS volunteer in Firozepur on Monday triggered sharp political reactions, with BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh accusing the Bhagwant Mann–led Punjab government of allowing gangsters and criminal elements to operate with impunity.

RSS worker Naveen Arora was shot dead by unidentified assailants, an incident Chugh described as a “direct attack on Punjab’s peace and social fabric.” He said the killing showed that “there is no law and order left in Punjab,” adding that criminals in the state were now acting “openly and without fear.”

Chugh launched a strong attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging that he had “abandoned the people of Punjab” and was preoccupied with “serving his Tihar-returned bosses in Delhi.” He said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government was focused on political calculations instead of public safety, leaving citizens to deal with a surge in crime and insecurity.

According to Chugh, gangsters, radical groups and criminal networks were moving freely across the state, while traders, families and ordinary residents were living in fear. He accused the government of administrative negligence and said Punjab was “drifting like a boat without a captain.”

Extending condolences to the family of the slain RSS volunteer, Chugh demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and a decisive crackdown on gangster networks. He warned that if the state government “continues to remain indifferent,” the people of Punjab would deliver a strong political response.
