Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Naseer Ahmad Wani on Thursday said that the schools operating from rented quarters will soon be shifted to government buildings in a phased manner.

Speaking during his visit to Sopore to oversee the ongoing board examinations, Wani said the department has already initiated measures to address land-related challenges.

He said the schools functioning in rented accommodations will be made functional in government buildings in a phased manner. "We have some land issues and other challenges, but those are being taken care of and reports will be sought from the concerned Chief Education Officers", he said.

About the issue of staff shortage, the Director acknowledged the problem at a few locations but assured corrective measures in the upcoming winter months. “We are all set for the rationalisation during the coming winter vacations, and adequate staff will be ensured in every school", Wani added.

The Director’s Sopore visit was part of an inspection drive aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of examinations and reviewing infrastructural and administrative preparedness.
