The Wildlife Control Room Achabal of Bringi Valley Range on Monday successfully captured three black bears alive from Shangus Nowgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), the cage was installed on the directions of the Wildlife Warden South and the Range Officer Bringi Valley after repeated reports were received about frequent movement of black bears in the Shangus area.

Officials said that the wildlife control team successfully rescued a mother bear along with two semi-adult bears from the cage. Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the department, all three bears were later released safely back into their natural habitat.

The timely action by the wildlife department helped avert any possible human-wildlife conflict in the area, officials added. (KNC)
