Traffic movement on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was regulated after clearance work of the down tube at Shalgari in the Banihal sector was initiated, officials said on Sunday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said, both up and down traffic are presently being managed through the up tube while restoration efforts continue in the affected stretch.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. “Traffic is being allowed in a regulated manner, and commuters are advised to follow instructions on the ground,” he said.

He further urged commuters to check road status before travel and cooperate with officials, adding that safety measures remain a top priority amid ongoing clearance operations.
