Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said over two lakh outreach programmes have been conducted across Jammu and Kashmir as part of the administration's anti-drug campaign, warning that strict action will continue against drug peddlers.

Addressing a mega padyatra in Baramulla, the LG said measures including vehicle de-registration, lookout notices and property seizure will be taken against those involved in drug trafficking. He lauded the police for enforcement drives and urged the public to report any laxity in the campaign.

Sinha reiterated that drug users should be treated as victims and rehabilitated with compassion, while calling on religious scholars, elders and civil society to actively join the movement to make J&K drug-free.
