Three Indian Army officers, including Major General Sachin Mehta, General Officer Commanding of the 3 Infantry Division, had a narrow escape after a Cheetah helicopter crashed in the Tangtse region near Leh.

The helicopter was piloted by a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major, with Major General Mehta travelling as a passenger. All three survived the crash. Details on injuries and the cause of the mishap were not immediately available.
