Nearly 300 tourists were left stranded inside cable cars after a technical snag halted the Gulmarg Gondola service in north Kashmir on Monday, triggering a large-scale rescue operation.

Personnel from Army's 9 Raj Rif, J&K Police and the civil administration rushed to the spot to evacuate the stranded tourists, including women and children who panicked after the gondola stopped mid-air. The SDM and Tehsildar Tangmarg reached the site to supervise the operation.

Authorities said the situation was under control and evacuation was progressing smoothly. Technical teams were deployed to identify the fault and restore operations.
