A delegation of Vishwa Hindu Peeth, led by Acharya Madan, met former Sadar-e-Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Karan Singh at his residence in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on May 27 to discuss the construction of a corridor to Sharada Peeth in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Acharya Madan presented Dr. Karan Singh with a statue of Adi Shankaracharya and a copy of the recently published book 'Sharada Peeth – Sati Desh Kashmir'.

Dr. Karan Singh said the main credit for preserving Kashmir's Hindu history and Sharada script literature goes to the Department of Archaeology and Historical Research established by Maharaja Pratap Singh in 1902, and noted that Maharaja Gulab Singh was the first to renovate the Sharada Peeth. He described Acharya Madan's research book as important for reviving Sharada culture in Kashmir.
