The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Tuesday evening issued an advisory warning of rain and thundershowers over many parts of Kashmir division and few parts of Jammu division, with brief intense spells, hailstorm, lightning and gusty winds expected at isolated places over the next 3–4 hours.

Hailstorm is likely over Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam, Kupwara, Handwara, Baramulla and parts of Ganderbal and Budgam in the next 2–3 hours.

Flashfloods and mudslides are possible at isolated places in South Kashmir, parts of Budgam and the Tral area due to brief intense showers.

The MET Centre has advised residents to stay indoors during thunderstorm and lightning and keep away from loose structures, electric poles and old trees. Boating and shikara riding on Dal Lake and other water bodies has been suspended for the next 2–3 hours.
