Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a high-level review meeting in New Delhi on Friday to assess preparedness and security arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, scheduled to run for 57 days from July 3 to August 28.

NSA Ajit Doval, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, CRPF DG G.P. Singh and senior officials from intelligence and civil administration are expected to attend the meeting, likely to begin around 11 am. The review will focus on deployment of Central Armed Police Forces, surveillance, area domination strategies, anti-sabotage measures and emergency response preparedness.

Authorities have also imposed a "No Flying Zone" across all Yatra routes, including the Pahalgam track and Baltal axis, from July 1 until the conclusion of the pilgrimage. As a result, helicopter services for pilgrims will remain suspended, and devotees have been advised to undertake the journey on foot or via ponies and palkis.
