Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday joined Youm-e-Ashura mourners at Zadibal, paying tributes to Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of the Battle of Karbala.

During the observance, the Lieutenant Governor offered a chaddar to Zuljinah and was presented with a black armband by mourners, while the Chief Minister distributed water and milk at a refreshment stall set up by the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference.

Accompanied by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani and MLA Tanvir Sadiq, Omar Abdullah also interacted with mourners and volunteers. Both leaders prayed for peace, communal harmony and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir as thousands participated in the traditional Ashura procession.
