Srinagar recorded its hottest day of the season on Sunday as the maximum temperature soared to 33.8°C, amid a sharp rise in temperatures across the Kashmir Valley.
The India Meteorological Department said dry weather is expected to persist across Jammu and Kashmir until the end of June, with a fresh Western Disturbance interacting with advancing monsoon winds likely to bring widespread rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds, lightning and isolated hailstorms from July 1 to 4.
The expected wet spell is likely to provide relief from the prevailing heat, while residents have been advised to remain alert for possible localized weather-related disruptions.
