Eighteen individuals including 13 students and 5 teachers test positive for COVID-19 infection at GHSS Bijhama Boniyar and Barnate high school of Uri, while as authorities have ordered suspension of the classwork with immediate effect.

Block medical officer (BMO), Boniyar Dr Parveez Masoodi told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that they carried out random sampling of at least 110 students at Bijhama higher secondary on Thursday out of which 15 came positive.

He said, that on Friday also 122 samples at the institute through Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were taken, a report of which is expected to come on Saturday.

“In High school Barnate, Uri three staff members had also came positive”, the BMO added.

Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri Harvinder Singh told, that they have decided to suspend the classwork on Saturday.(KNS)
