Forest department has seized vehicle carrying illicit timber in Kralgund Bicherwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday early morning.

Ranger Mawer told the Kashmir News Service (KNS) that acting on specific information we laid a Naka at several places in Lanagte area, and our teams successfully apprehended the vehicle along with the timber in Bicherwara village measuring about 25 feet.

The illicit timber was later seized along with the vehicle, the driver has also been arrested on the spot, the officer said.

Officials said that case under relevant laws/sections have been prepared and forwarded to the nearest police station for further action.(KNS).
