National Conference president and Member of Parliament Farooq Abdullah stated that they would contest the upcoming elections as part of the INDIA alliance and are in talks with Congress for seat sharing.

He said that there is a need to strengthen the alliance to safeguard the nation.

“Discussions with Congress are ongoing, and a decision on seat sharing will be announced soon,” he said.

Abdullah acknowledged the necessity of coalition with Congress to bolster the political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir.

He addressed concerns about former NC members joining BJP, stating that it’s a regular part of elections and won’t impact the National Conference.

Responding to BJP’s claim of NC losing all three Parliament seats, Abdullah said it’s for the people to decide.

He expressed the desire for early Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, questioning the delay despite Parliamentary elections being conducted.(KNS).
