In a setback to National Conference, a district development council (DDC) member from Baramulla on Friday resigned from the party.

Confirming the move, Shabir Ahmad Lone, DDC member, told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that National Conference leadership has been taking decisions from the party headquarters without taking the grassroots workers into confidence.

"There is no internal democracy in the party," he said.

Shabir’s exit is likely to hit the prospects of National Conference in Baramulla assembly segment where the party had stood second in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.
