Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), General Secretary (Org)/Publicity Chief Mohammad Altaf Dar (Rajbagh) has emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive economic reforms to strengthen the region's business landscape.

In a statement, Dar highlighted the challenges faced by local traders and manufacturers, including bureaucratic hurdles, lack of access to credit, and inadequate infrastructure. He called on policymakers to implement targeted reforms that can stimulate growth, enhance competitiveness, and create job opportunities.

“The economic potential of Kashmir remains largely untapped,” Dar stated. “By simplifying regulations, improving infrastructure, and providing financial support to small businesses, we can unlock the true potential of our local economy.”

KTMF urges the government to consider:

Streamlined Business Regulations: Simplifying the process for obtaining permits and licenses.

Financial Support Initiatives: Establishing accessible loan schemes for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Infrastructure Development: Investing in road, power, and communication facilities to support trade.

Skill Development Programs: Enhancing workforce skills to meet industry demands.

Dar reiterated that a collaborative approach involving traders, manufacturers, and government officials is essential for devising effective solutions.

KTMF remains committed to advocating for the interests of local businesses and calls on all stakeholders to join hands in fostering a vibrant economic environment in Kashmir.
