The National Investigation Agency has chargesheeted one accused, Hakam Khan, in connection with the deadly militant attack on a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori to Katra in Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack, which occurred on June 9, 2024, resulted in the deaths of eight pilgrims and the bus driver, with 41 others seriously injured.
According to the NIA, Hakam Khan was arrested after a thorough investigation and examination of evidence. He confessed to being part of the conspiracy behind the attack, providing logistical support to the three militants who carried out the attack.
The NIA found that Hakam Khan not only provided food and shelter to the militants but also helped them identify the attack spot.
The NIA took over the investigation into the attack at the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The agency's chargesheet was filed before the NIA Special Court in Jammu, charging Hakam Khan under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. [KNT]
