A fire broke out late at night in the Chakura Pattan village in North Kashmir's Baramulla district, reducing a residential house, three shops, and an Alto car to ashes.

The inferno, which caused damage worth lakhs, kept firefighters, local residents, and Indian Army personnel engaged in a strenuous battle to contain the flames.

Despite their joint efforts, the fire inflicted significant losses before it was finally brought under control.

The cause of the blaze remains unclear, and authorities are assessing the extent of the damage while police have registered a case in this regard. [KNT]
