Member Parliament Er. Rashid

Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson, Inam Un Nabi, has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health of Er Rashid, who continues his hunger strike for the 10th consecutive day while receiving medical care at RML Hospital.

In the meantime, a high-level AIP delegation led by Vice President G.N. Shaheen, including Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Gazanfar Ali Mir, and Aijaz Yousuf, held an important meeting with political activists, social workers, and AIP members in Jammu.

The meeting addressed key political and organizational matters, with a focus on expanding AIP’s presence in the Jammu division. Participants expressed their unwavering solidarity with Er Rashid, voicing grave concerns about his deteriorating health. The group appealed to the judiciary, urging authorities to uphold justice and ensure Rashid’s fundamental rights and liberties.

The meeting also emphasized that subjecting an elected Member of Parliament to institutional injustices is a severe violation of democratic values.

In a move to strengthen the party's presence, Amarjeet Singh was appointed as the District President of Jammu, Anil Kumar as the District Secretary, and Sardar Harnans Singh and Sardar Narinder Singh as Senior District Advisors. The new office bearers vowed to lead efforts in expanding the party and preparing for upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) and Municipal elections in the region.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous appeal for the safe release of Er Rashid, stressing the importance of preserving democratic values and individual freedoms.
