A 45-year-old man lost his life after being trapped inside a well in Sogam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday afternoon.
Officials told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the incident took place at Lassipora village of Sogam when two men slipped and fell into a well accidentally while cleaning it.
“One of them, identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Sofi (20), was rescued in time, while the other, Abdul Rashid Sofi (45), a resident of Daramwari, got trapped,” officials said.
Police, SDRF, and local volunteers launched a rescue operation after which the body was retrieved.
Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation started. (KNC)
