Police in statement said that in a firm display of internal accountability, Doda Police have registered an FIR against an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the department after he was found involved in an alleged assault case.

In a handout, the police said that the action follows a written complaint filed on December 3 at Police Post DH Doda by Anzar Majid Malik. In his statement, Malik accused Ghulam Ali, son of Mohd. Maqbool Dar of Sadeeqabad Doda, of wrongfully restraining and assaulting him.

Acting on the complaint, Police Station Doda registered FIR No. 272/2025 under relevant sections of law and initiated a probe. During the investigation, it emerged that the accused was serving as an ASI in the police force.

Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct within its ranks, the department has allowed the legal process to move forward without hesitation. Officials said the investigation is ongoing and further action will follow as per law, reads the statement.
