MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, today carried out a series of public outreach and developmental programmes across the constituency, focusing on education, healthcare, youth awareness, and public welfare.

The MLA inaugurated the newly constructed building at Government Girls Middle School Kralpora Wailoo, aimed at improving educational infrastructure and providing better facilities to students. He interacted with students, teachers, and local residents, and highlighted the importance of quality education for a brighter future.

Later, he attended a programme under the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan at MTM Experimental School Wussan Karhama, where students and youth were made aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse. On the occasion, participants also took a pledge to work towards a drug-free society.

In a significant step for healthcare services, the MLA inaugurated a German-made fully automatic biochemistry analyser capable of conducting 100 tests per hour, which will help strengthen diagnostic and patient care facilities in the area.

The MLA also distributed appointment orders among ICDS workers at Town Hall Tangmarg and urged the selected candidates to work sincerely for the welfare of women and children.

Later, under the “Aapki Awaaz Hamari Zimadari” programme, the MLA visited Mahyen, where he listened to public grievances and developmental issues raised by the residents and assured them of timely redressal and full support.
