Srinagar: Ahead of scheduled protests against braid chopping incidents, Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was on Friday placed under house arrest while as Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was arrested from his residence.

The united Hurriyat camp comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Malik has called for protests after congregational prayers today against the braid cutting incidents.
