Govt. failed to protect Kashmiri people from braid choppers: G A Mir

Kupwara, Oct 21: Scores of Indian National Congress (INC) leaders and workers led by District President Farooq Ahmad took out a march from Town Hall Kupwara to DC Office Kupwara.

INC on Saturday staged a protest against the alleged failure of the government to prevent unabated braid-chopping incidents in Kashmir valley.

The rally was intercepted by police near DC office Kupwara and was not allowed to move inside Deputy Commissioners Office. The protesters raised slogans against the government for what they said its failure to prevent braid-cutting incidents in the Valley.

Addressing the workers, Mr. Farooq said: “The government is in complete knowhow of who the real culprits are but still they continue to maintain silence on this conspiracy. It is they who have to ensure protection of our mothers, sisters and daughters but they have failed miserably to ensure their protection. This government has proven to be a complete failure on every front and has no right to remain in power,” he alleged.

Addressing the workers over Phone, JKINC Chief Gulam Ahmad Mir: “said that government failed to protect our mothers, sisters and daughters from braid choppers. Today I have not allowed to move from here to kupwara and said that he is thankful to people of kupwara who joins our programme.

The protesters also shouted slogans against coalition government carrying placards, INC workers demanded that the government intervene into incidences of braid chopping and immediately bring culprits to book.
