Kakinada, Oct 28 : Seven people, all women, were killed and six others suffered injuries when the Appi (big) auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a speeding tipper near Chitturi Vari Palem village between Modekurru and Golakotivaripalem under Kothapet police station limits in Konaseema region ,70 kms from here in the early hours of Saturday.
The ill-fated auto was taking them from Allavaram to Venkateswera swamy temple in Vadapalli while the tipper-laden with Blackstone was on its way from Pagidi in Anantapur to Amalapuram town.
The victims, all relatives, had left home early for offering special prayers at the temple.
