Rae Bareli, Nov 1 : At least 10 people were killed and around 200 were injured when a boiler at a new unit of NTPC’s Unchahar Thermal power station exploded on Wednesday.

Police sources said, the boiler tube of the newly commissioned sixth unit of 500 MW exploded at around 1600 hrs.

The unit was on trial run when the accident occurred.
The unit was set up jointly by BHEL and NTPC.

Senior district officials have rushed to the spot while the entire NTPC area have been sealed off.
