Srinagar: Kashmir Wire, Kashmir’s first community owned news gathering organization started its operations on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. The news gathering agency is the first major initiative of the Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG), a group of main newspapers being pusblished from Srinagar.

Led by veteran journalist Ali Mohammd Sofi, the former bureau chief of PTI, the wire service has already hired a team of dedicated professionals across Kashmir.

The wire service will be deccimating information to its subscribers round the clock. The service is available in Urdu and English languages.

KW plans to upgrade its operations by gradually getting into the photo services and the video footage with the passage of time.
