Bengaluru, Nov 8 : While Congress party observed ‘Black Day’ across Karnataka against demonetisation of higher currency on this day last year, the BJP celebrated it as a ‘Victory Day’.

Congress leaders condemned the union government for its hasty decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes last year that had crippled the Indian economy, affected the poor and middle class and also led to several deaths.

They took out a procession from Mourya Circle to Freedom Park in the city raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. They also burnt the effigies of tthe two leaders.

Political in-charge for Congress Affairs in Karnataka K V Venugopal, KPCC President G Parameshwara, KPCC Working President Dinesh Gundurao, Several Ministers, Parliamentarians and legislators took part in the protest rally.
