Srinagar, Dec 15 : Government forces lobbed tear gas shells to disperse groups of youth, showing their resentment against government for  thwarting the planned rally of the Joint Resistance  leadership (JRL), in the town.

Raising pro-freedom and anti-government slogans, groups of youth, soon after Friday prayers, assembled at Kadipur Chowk but forces , who were deployed in strength in the town, swung into action and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse them, official reports reaching here said.

They said  minor clashes erupted between the youth and the forces but there was no report of anybody getting injured.

Anantnag town has been sealed  by concertina wires at all the major intersections in the town to foil the rally planned by JRL and main law and order. (Kashmir Wire)
