Srinagar, Dec 15:  Cyber Crime Police in Srinagar city arrested a youth for hacking the Facebook page of Doctors Association Kashmir.

The facebook page having lakhs of hits was run of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) headed by Dr Nisar-ul-Hasan.

Confirming the arrest of the youth, a police official from Nigeen Police Station identified the accused as Naveed Ahmed Shah, a medical representative working for a drug company ‘Alif Remedies’.

“We used this facebook to sensitize common people about the use and spread of spurious drugs. We believed that facebook page was deleted by accused on the instructions of those who deal in spurious drugs in Kashmir Valley,” said Dr Nisar-ul-Hasan told news agency CNS.

He added that on the launch of their website the accused introduced himself as an IT expert and sought username and password of their facebook page.

“On November 18 last month, the two admins of this fb page, Dr Reyaz Ahmed Dagga and Shafiq Khambay received notifications that they have been removed as admins from the page. Accordingly we lodged a complaint before police station Nigeen and we are grateful to them for solving the case,” Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan said. (CNS)
