Anantnag, Jan 17 : Life returned to normal on Wednesday in several areas of this south Kashmir district, where people observed strike on the first death anniversary of three Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants killed in an encounter with security forces last year.

Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic was plying normally on all routes in Bijbehara, a major town on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, and over half a dozen other villages in this district.
Traffic was also plying normally on Bijbehara-Pahalgam route who wore a deserted look yesterday due to shut down.
However, strike had no impact on traffic movement on national highway, passing through Bijbehara.

Students were also seen attending their classes in tuition and coaching centres normally.
