New Delhi, Jan 24 : The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition of advocate Kamini Jaiswal for a probe by a Special Investigation Team into the attacks on then Jawaharlal Nehru University student union leader Kanhaiya Kumar at Patiala House Court on February 15 and 17, 2016, while he was escorted to court room in a sedition case.

The JNU students union president was arrested on the charge of sedition for holding an anti-national event on 12th February 2016 inside the university premises .

It was alleged that Kumar was attacked on February 15, 2016, by the lawyers during his production in the Patiala House Court. It was further alleged that the lawyers had also assaulted journalists.
